Features That Make It Stand Out
Crossbow Informer.com Product Rating:
Consumers gave this model a rating of four out of five stars for quality build, zero hold scope, and pricing.
Assembly
Assembling the Ghost can be tricky, even for the seasoned crossbow user. The instructions are not very detailed, so you may need to rely on a friend with crossbow assembly experience should you run into any problems installing the cable guide.
Draw
This model features a 175lbs draw weight, with twelve inches worth of power stroke. The Ghost can drive arrows off the rails at 350 FPS with 109ft pounds of KE. This type of power is enough to take down large or medium sized game.
Trigger
Pulling the trigger feels easy and smooth, which is a bonus considering it prevents the user from pulling down on the crossbow while pulling the trigger. Once the bow is sighted you can accurately hit three-inch groupings at fifty yards, or one-inch groupings at thirty yards. Hunters can easily shoot a large buck from sixty yards. Overall, this model is excellent for hunting all sizes of game.
Cocking
The 175-pound draw can be pretty difficult for some hunters to use if they want to hand pull the string. This model comes equipped with a rope cocking device, which will make cocking easier for any user. The rope cocking device will allow the user to pull about eighty-eight pounds of draw weight. The Ghost’s cams let the weight off with perfect timing. As long as the user utilizes the rope cocking device, cocking the Ghost is a breeze.
Scope and Arrows for the Barnett Ghost
Also included is the standard 3 x 32 MM scope, which is available with most Barnett models. This scope is powered, providing illuminated reticles, with markings up to fifty yards. You won’t be able to sight targets without first makings some adjustments to the scope. This can be done by twisting the windage knob, making about three to four full rotations left and adjusting still shot right. When you test your sight, be sure to start out at ten yards, working out from there. Once you’ve perfectly adjusted the sight, the scope holds zero very reliably, which prevents the need for frequent sighting adjustments.
Just like other Barnett models, The Ghost comes with three twenty inch arrows equipped with field tips. The arrows are nothing to brag about and can easily be switched out for your favorites if you’re targeting large game. The manufacturer recommends a minimum weight of four-hundred grains, which includes the broadhead.
