Offering 425 FPS, the R15 is incredibly fast, accurate, and comes equipped with all the right features needed to increase the bow’s precision and speed.

This compound bow is designed to reduce human error normally caused by trigger creep. The bow’s very easy to uncock and cock, which reduces the user’s risk of dry firing, making it a very beginner-friendly model.

This crossbow package comes loaded with all of the accessories you’ll need to get out there shooting right away, including the Versa-Draw cocking handle, six bolts, mounting bracket and quiver, one-hundred-yard illuminated scope, six practice field points, and built-in sling mounts.

The bow’s Trac-Trigger firing system consists of a lightweight trigger that cleanly breaks at just two pounds, allowing you to smoothly release the string with each and every shot.

The included quiver and mounting bracket allow you to keep your arrows easily accessible, while the quick detach feature will make life easier during tree stand hunting situations.

The frictionless flight system is one of the bow’s best features. This design prevents the bolts from coming into contact with the rail during a shock. This, in turn, eliminates both cam lean and friction. This innovative design will only allow the bolt to touch the latch of the crossbow and the front riser wheels, working to improve both shooting speed and power.

Crossbow Velocity and Accuracy

The R15 offers an impressive draw weight of one hundred and ninety-five pounds, which is twice what you need for hunting larger game. The bow’s limb deflection technology is what’s really responsible for the extra thirty-five FPS. Deflection describes the measure of how much a limb will bend under a certain load. With this model, the manufacturer has modified the deflection, making it slightly stiffer. The deflection is modified into the limbs and when combined with the Helicoil technology, it makes for a faster bow, with a lower draw weight.

In terms of accuracy, the R15 scored well. In fact, it can easily shoot at one hundred yards and will still keep a decent amount of kinetic energy and velocity.

The included illuminated scope delivers the type of precision you need for shot accuracy. The scope allows users to increase their hunting success by ensuring that distance won’t be an issue.

Construction and Design

The bow features an aggressively vented look with Predator camo and a very narrow riser. This is the perfect crossbow for hunters who love speed.

This model is also loaded with safety features. The extended safety wings located over the foregrip will prevent the user from placing their fingers above the flight deck. The bow’s grip is comfortable, yet solid, allowing the hunter to place their fingers through it when they’re holding the bow to shoot it, preventing the fingers from being placed where they don’t belong. The bow’s trigger is equipped with automatic safety which is designed to prevent dry firing.

Weight

The bow weighs in at 6.9 pounds. The length of the bow is considered standard and comes in at just thirty-four inches. The narrow design makes the bow easy to handle, even for longer periods of time. The built-in sling mounts will allow the hunter to install a sling, making the bow perfect for long hunting trips in the backcountry.

Ease of Use

Although this crossbow is top of the line and obviously packing some serious power, it’s actually incredibly easy to use, especially compared to competing models such as the Barnett Ghost 350 CRT crossbow.

The R15’s cocking mechanism is fully integrated and makes cocking the bow feel effortless. This cocking device brings the draw weight down to just twelve pounds, so you can quickly get a bolt into position. Cocking the bow can cause quite a bit of noise unless you lift the cocking lever at the rear of the bow in order to cut the clicking. Just keep in mind that when hunting, you should never cock while a target is approaching, instead, it should be done beforehand.

Maintenance and Care

With proper care and maintenance, the R15 can last for several years to come. The manufacturer recommends changing out the cables and strings after two hundred shots or every two years. Also, this product is covered by a five-year warranty.

In terms of upkeep, we recommended waxing the string in order to prevent it wearing out too quickly.

Pros

  • Despite its velocity, the R15 is incredibly quiet, making it one deadly weapon during a hunt.
  • The kinetic energy produced is twice what’s needed to take down larger game
  • Cocking device brings down the draw weight to just twelve pounds
  • Very beginner-friendly
  • This bow offers unmatched accuracy
  • Arrives pre-tuned and fully assembled
  • Compact design that’s perfect for tight spaces
  • Equipped with Helicoil technology
  • Comes with Versa-Draw cocking system
  • Features an aggressively vented design

Cons

  • Cocking the bow makes a lot of noise
